Our trip to the Amalfi Coast was truly unforgettable. We spent three days exploring the iconic coastal towns, with plenty of walking, beautiful views, and delicious food along the way. Even though we visited in September, it was still crowded, and popular restaurants filled up fast—reservations are highly recommended. Here’s a breakdown of our experience and recommendations for anyone planning a trip.
Days 1 & 2: Positano
We spent the first two days in Positano, where breathtaking cliffs and vibrant pastel houses create a postcard-perfect setting. Parking was tricky, so we opted for paid parking near Sant’ Angelo and then walked down numerous stairs to reach Positano’s famous Grande Beach. Descending was not that difficult, but climbing back up in the heat was intense, especially for someone like me who isn’t super active!
Positano Highlights
Grande Beach
We spent our mornings here, enjoying the crystal-clear water and sunbathing on the pebbled shores. It’s an ideal spot to relax and soak in the views of Positano from the beach.
Evening Walks and Sunset Views
As the day wound down, we explored the charming streets of Positano and watched the sunset over the coast.
Dinner with a view
Dining here is an experience not to miss! We enjoyed delicious Italian dishes while overlooking the illuminated town.
Day 3: Capri
For our last day, we took an early morning boat from Sorrento to Capri and spent the entire day exploring the island before catching the last boat back. Capri is a must-visit; the scenic views, rich history, and unique attractions make it worth the trip.
Capri Highlights
Marina Grande Public Beach
We wrapped up our day here, a less crowded beach with public access. It was a peaceful way to end our Capri visit, enjoying the water and relaxing.
Gardens of Augustus
Our first stop offered breathtaking views of the Faraglioni rock formations from above. The gardens were surprisingly uncrowded, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy the panorama.
Villa Lysis
hidden gem and the highlight of our entire trip. Villa Lysis combines art and nature beautifully and offers tranquil spots with stunning vistas of Capri. It’s not very popular on social media, which keeps it peaceful and allows for an amazing experience.
Best pizza in Capri
We had the best pizza of our trip in Lo Sfizio Resturant. The pizza was perfect, and the friendly staff made it even more enjoyable. This spot is a must for anyone craving authentic Italian flavors in Capri.
